Confucius and the Road

“It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Confucius

Confucius is one smart dude. I think about his message when I sense that things aren’t going as rapidly as I would like or when I find myself quitting a task. You know the feeling.

I also like the “Road” as a metaphor for daily life.  Look on Google Maps and you will have an overview of how our lives twist and turn just like the roads of your favorite city.   Straight roads that ask for speed and curved roads that makes your journey slow and often frustrating.  There are roads which are smooth and easy going for miles on end and there are roads that change abruptly.  At some point, we all come to the rough and ill repaired roads that we still have to drive through.

I have found roads that just end, making you turn back to find another path.  The best roads are sometimes the ones that bring you back where you first started. I could go on forever on the similarities of “Life” and the “Road” but my point is said best by Confucius, “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.”

We began Fighting Measure back in 2009 because of our love of the martial arts culture.  It’s been several years since our last post because the team has been on the “Road”, but we have never stopped. Fighting Measure is back! We will strive to bring quality posts concerning all things martial arts including equipment reviews, health and fitness, events, interviews, and whatever else comes to light.

We’re back and ready for the Road ahead.
